The chemical compound Resveratrol is a stilbenoid, a natural phenol, and a phytoalexin, produced by some plants such as grapes, blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, and peanuts. Resveratol has antioxidative, anticarcinogenic, and antitumor properties. Studies reported that Resveratrol possessed antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antidiabetes, antiobesity, neuroprotective, and anti-aging effects. It may lower the risk of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and dementia. All of the bioactive properties it possesses contribute to its ability to reduce skin inflammation and combat arthritis.
